Daisuke Oda joined Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

Message from Mr. Oda

On this occasion, as I begin the ninth year in my career as an attorney, I have decided to leave the firm I currently work for and move to Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

Until now I have built up practical experience working at Irokawa Law Office in Osaka, where I primarily provided advice on general meetings of shareholders, and regarding corporate governance, legal compliance, and risk management for companies, particularly for financial institutions. During that time, from April 2005 to March 2007 I worked at the Supervisory Bureau of the Financial Services Agency, where I gathered experience in financial administration through investigating legal issues related to financial supervision (including monitoring of business operations, approval and authorization, administrative guidance, and administrative disposition, for financial institutions), planning, drafting, and implementing systems and measures related to financial supervision, and participation in various councils, committees, and research groups. After returning to work as an attorney I used this experience to provide effective consultation, particularly in the financial regulatory field, based on practical management of supervisory guidelines, inspection manuals, as well as relevant laws and ordinances.

I intend to use my move to Mori Hamada & Matsumoto as an opportunity to work even harder at improving myself in a new environment and to actively provide legal services for clients that are detailed and well-considered and in line with practical experience, based on a broad perspective, while at the same time ensuring that I am highly aware of current economic and social conditions.

I look forward to working with you in the future.

Daisuke Oda, October 2008
