Shi Kang (Chinese lawyer) returns to the Tokyo Office as a registered foreign lawyer

Shi Kang, a Chinese lawyer, returned to the Tokyo Office of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto as a registered foreign lawyer (Chinese law) in March 2014. He has extensive practice experience in corporate matters, M&A, and other related practice areas, not only in China but also in the United States and is one of the key members of the firm’s China practice group. Since 2011, he has practiced Chinese law at one of our associated PRC local law firms in Shanghai, China (Shanghai Guo Ce Law Offices), and from now on he will provide more diversified legal services at the Tokyo Office of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto as a registered foreign lawyer.

Message from Mr. Kang

I returned to the Tokyo Office of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto on March 19, 2014 to work as a registered foreign lawyer, and I am honored to have this opportunity. During the past three years, I have been based in Shanghai, China, and in that time I was mainly engaged in dispute resolutions such as litigation and arbitration, corporate reorganizations such as mergers and acquisitions and dispositions or liquidations, antitrust cases such as antitrust notifications for business combinations and the handling of responses to cartel regulations, and real estate matters. I also actively established networks with legal and business communities in China during this period of time. Utilizing this experience, I will endeavor to provide practical and effective legal advice to clients while taking into account both a global perspective as well as a unique PRC perspective.
