MHM ranked 10th for Legal Expertise in the FT 25 Asia-Pacific Headquartered Law Firms, and received standout awards for its work in corporate and finance law

The Financial Times published its fourth annual Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Report on 2 June 2017. Mori Hamada & Matsumoto was ranked 10th in the FT 25 list of Asia-Pacific Headquartered Law Firms for Legal Expertise. We are the only Japanese law firm to be ranked among the top 25 four years in a row. In the Report, we received commendations for our corporate and finance work in respect of three submissions; acting for GROOVE X on the first convertible equity issue by a Japanese company and structuring GCA’s acquisition of a UK investment bank, both of which were ranked “standout”. Also commended was our work on the first listed infrastructure fund. Masakazu Masujima, who acted on the convertible equity transaction, was recognised as one of the top 10 innovative individuals.

The Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers report enters its fourth year in 2017. Having long been part of the legal landscape in Europe and North America, this Report has now established itself as a trusted guide to the profession in Asia-Pacific.
