Aruto Kagami joins Mori Hamada & Matsumoto

Aruto Kagami has joined Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

Message from Mr.Kagami

On this occasion, as I begin the thirteenth year in my career as an attorney, I am honored to be joining Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

After being qualified as an attorney in 2002, I worked for seven years at Irokawa Law Office in Osaka where I was in charge of a range of legal services with a focus on large-scale lawsuits. These lawsuits include pharmaceutical product liability cases, employment/labor cases, antimonopoly cases, and other commercial cases. The clients I represented at that time include telecommunications companies, pharmaceuticals, and electronics manufacturers. I then moved to the United States of America and studied US antitrust, intellectual property and corporations at graduate school. After graduation, I worked on a trademark infringement lawsuit and antitrust class actions at a US law firm in New York as a legal consultant. Subsequently, I had the opportunity to be seconded to a global manufacturer of nonferrous metal products to work as an in-house counsel. For two years from September 2011, I was posted to its London-based subsidiary where I worked on competition/antitrust law cases (in automotive and power/energy sectors) in Europe, US, etc., US class actions and other dispute resolution matters, as well as compliance-related services for affiliated companies located in Europe and the Americas.

I look forward to assisting MHM’s clients with their global business activities and dispute resolution based on my experience in handling lawsuits and regulatory agencies both in and out of Japan as well as my ten years of experience studying (elementary/high/graduate level) and working abroad.
