Mori Hamada & Matsumoto and Chandler & Thong-ek Law Offices Limited : Integration of Thai Practice

Mori Hamada & Matsumoto (“MHM”) and Chandler & Thong-ek Law Offices Limited (“C&T”)* announce that the two firms have agreed to integrate their practices in Thailand.

It is expected that the integration will be completed in January 2017. The name of the combined Thai operation will be Chandler MHM Limited. Satoshi Kawai, a partner of MHM who specialises in cross-border M&A and international trade and Niwes Phancharoenworakul, the existing managing partner of C&T, will lead the practice.

Satoshi Kawai said “MHM has been advising Japanese clients in Thailand for many years and its integration with C&T significantly enhances our capability to serve our clients in South East Asia, responding to the increased demand from them for legal services.”

Niwes Phancharoenworakul, managing partner of C&T said, “We have been working very closely with MHM for many years and have exchanged secondees between the two firms. The two firms have similar cultures and we are confident that the integrated firm will go from strength to strength.”
