The Financial Times published its fifth annual Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Report on 7 June 2018. Mori Hamada & Matsumoto was ranked 10th in the list of “Most Innovative Law Firms (Asia-Pacific)”, making it the only Japanese law firm to be ranked among the top 25 five years in a row. In the Report, we received commendations for our corporate and finance work in respect of three submissions, the raising of new equity by Toshiba Corporation under unique circumstances which was ranked “standout”, Japan’s first global ICO by Tech Bureau Corporation and Asatsu DK Inc.’s going private transaction.  Also commended was our pro-bono work in providing legal education and refugee application support, and raising awareness for the LGBT community.

The Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers report enters its fifth year in 2018. Having long been part of the legal landscape in Europe and North America, this report has now established itself as a trusted guide to the profession in Asia-Pacific.
