Chandler MHM is pleased to make two benchmark announcements.  In January 2019, the firm will welcome Chatchai Inthasuwan, as Senior Partner and practice leader for Chandler MHM’s Dispute Resolution/Litigation practice.  Further, in mid-December, Nuanporn Wechsuwanarux will rejoin the firm as Counsel, specializing in Energy and Natural Resources, and M&A.

Chatchai Inthasuwan is well-known in Thailand and across Southeast Asia for his stellar legal career, extending for nearly 30 years. From 2007 to 2017 he was Partner and Head of Litigation & Regulatory at DLA Piper (Thailand), and prior to that practiced at Coudert Brothers for 13 years. His impressive experience focuses on complex cross-border litigation and regulatory matters covering a broad range of sectors, with a focus on: banking and finance, insurance, telecommunications, ITC, IP and construction. He has represented major Thai and international organizations, as well as Thai state-owned enterprises, including extensive work for a Thai telecom, state-owned enterprise. He has experience in all areas of dispute resolution, including arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Nuanporn has practiced law in Thailand since 2002, having launched her career at Chandler MHM (formerly known as Chandler & Thong-ek) as a Junior Associate. After leaving the firm, she served as Corporate Secretary and Senior Manager at Boutique Corporation Plc., a Thai real estate development and hospitality company.  Her most current position, prior to re-joining Chandler MHM, was as a Senior Associate at Baker McKenzie in Bangkok.

In addition to representing industry-leading investors on energy projects in Thailand and Laos PDR, she has extensive experience advising Thailand state-owned enterprises and both Thai and foreign investors on a broad range of legal areas, particularly on projects affecting the country’s evolving energy sector. Her law reform experience includes: advising the Department of Alternative Energy and Development and Efficiency (DEDE) from 2005 to 2007; the Ministry of Energy on formulation of strategy for AEC integration from 2013 to 2014, and DEDE on development of the legal framework for promotion of alternative energy from 2013 to 2014. Her strong background with both private sector and government agencies will help to strengthen our market-leading projects and energy practice.
