Message from Samuel Franklin

My name is Samuel Franklin and I am excited to have joined Mori Hamada & Matsumoto as a secondee for six months.

Following completion of my solicitors exams, I joined Slaughter and May as a trainee solicitor in London in February 2018. Slaughters is a full-service law firm providing advisory, transactional and other services to a wide range of corporates, businesses and government institutions. I have completed six-month rotations in financing and corporate M&A, and three-month rotations in dispute resolution and tax. Following my secondment to MHM, I will be returning to London as an associate in Slaughter’s transactional practice stream.

As a half-Japanese half-English Londoner, my previous experiences of Japan include a year at a local primary school in Akita and several other extended stays. This is my first time living and working in Tokyo, so I hope to experience all it has to offer.

I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to meeting and working with as many of you as possible over the coming months.
