Mori Hamada & Matsumoto is pleased to announce the planned opening of an office in Takamatsu, Japan.

To date the firm has been providing legal support for matters in the Shikoku and Chugoku regions through its offices in Tokyo, Osaka, and other locations in Japan.  However, clients have expressed their desire for support closer to where they do business, particularly in the field of corporate law.  By opening an office in Takamatsu, Kagawa, the firm hopes to respond to such needs and expectations, and provide services specifically tailored to the needs of clients in that region.

The Takamatsu Office will be staffed by Hiroshi Koyama and his team.  Mr. Koyama, who is originally from Takamatsu City, Kagawa, has extensive experience in areas including M&A, corporate law-related services, tax, and business succession.  The Takamatsu Office will work in close coordination with the firm’s lawyers not only within Japan, but also at our overseas offices, including those in Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok, Yangon, and Hochimin, as well with other overseas law firms we have alliances with.

Based on the novel concept of further revitalizing the general practice of attorneys at law in the region, the Takamatsu Office will focus on fostering close ties with local attorneys, seek ways to cooperate with other professionals, and share those results with local professionals while also acting as a bridge between overseas and local attorneys.  Through such efforts, the Takamatsu Office will endeavor to further revitalize and develop the general practice of attorneys throughout the region, and contribute to enhancing the legal services provided for the local economy.

The Takamatsu Office is scheduled to open at the beginning of April 2020, after the necessary procedures have been completed.  Further details about the office, including the date of opening and the location, will be announced at a later date.

* The Takamatsu Office will be established as a branch office of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto LPC.
