In December 2019, the firm announced that it had received approval from Chinese judicial authorities to appoint Norimitsu Mori as Chief Representative of the Beijing Office.  Mr. Mori has now taken up his post and started working at the Beijing Office after having obtained all the required qualifications.  With the opening of the Beijing Office in 1998 and the Shanghai Office in 2005, we have been providing our clients with legal services for matters relating to China in collaboration with our offices in Tokyo, Osaka and other offices in Japan.  Mr. Mori specializes in Chinese legal affairs and corporate and M&A matters.  After completing his studies and training in the United States, Mr. Mori was posted to the Shanghai Office as a General Partner from 2017 to 2019, and became a partner of the firm in January 2019.

Mr. Mori’s predecessor, Yoshifumi Onodera, has returned to the Tokyo Office.
