Yoshifumi Nagakubo joins Mori Hamada & Matsumoto

Message from Mr. Yoshifumi Nagakubo

It is a great honor to join Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

After graduating from university I worked at a publishing company, and subsequently joined Okamura Law Office following my admission to the Japanese bar.  I have acquired significant experience working on a wide variety of matters, including litigation, general corporate matters, and matters relating to antimonopoly laws.

From 2015, I worked in the Legal System Planning Division of the Consumer Affairs Agency, where I was in charge of the interpretation and operation of the Personal Information Protection Act, which was under the jurisdiction of the Consumer Affairs Agency at the time, and also worked on matters related to the Consumer Organization Collective Litigation System, which allowed me to deepen my knowledge of consumer-related laws (including the Consumer Contract Act, Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, and Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations).

From July 2018, I worked at the Electricity and Gas Market Surveillance Commission of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, where my work involved examination of and providing guidance on individual matters regarding electricity and gas retail transactions, and monitoring compliance with guidelines.

At Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, I look forward to leveraging the experience I have gained to date, and will strive to further develop my professional expertise to support our clients.
