Firm receives “Eruboshi” certification under the Act on Promotion of Female Participation and Advancement in the Workplace

Mori Hamada & Matsumoto received a 2-star Eruboshi (“L-Star,” for Labor Star) certification for its outstanding initiatives to empower female employees.

The “Eruboshi certification” is awarded to employers who have formulated and registered an action plan under the Act on Promotion of Female Participation and Advancement in the Workplace and who satisfy certain requirements, including outstanding initiatives to empower female employees.

Approximately 90% of the firm’s overall staff are female.  For this reason, we believe that it is of great importance to provide an environment where female employees can work actively over a long period of time.  The firm conducts the initiatives below to further promote female empowerment.

Goals and efforts

-        To create a work environment where female employees can achieve their full potential and work at ease, the firm aims to maintain the ratio of women in managerial positions at over 80%.

-        To create an environment where all employees can balance work and home life, maintain and improve their physical and mental health, and continue working over a long period of time, the firm aims to reduce the non-statutory working hours at sections where the total non-statutory working hours per month is over 20 hours by 10%.

As a result of these initiatives, we were awarded the “Eruboshi certification.”

Going forward, the firm will not only work to promote female empowerment, but also undertake to create an organization and environment where diversified personnel can demonstrate their unique abilities.
