Mori Hamada & Matsumoto is pleased to announce the opening of an office in Fukuoka, Japan.

Fukuoka is one of the principal cities located in the western part of Japan, an area where the firm has a number of important clients. By opening an office in Fukuoka, the firm aims to enhance the services it provides to its existing clients located in western Japan and also to expand its practice in this important region.

The Fukuoka office will assist clients with the full range of services provided by the firm generally, including litigation and other forms of dispute resolution, as well as assistance in transactional and regulatory practice areas including domestic and cross-border mergers & acquisitions, reorganizations, finance, intellectual property, real estate, labor matters and corporate governance.

The Fukuoka office will initially be staffed by two of the firm’s partners, Masatake Yone and Atsunori Nobukuni, both of whom are originally from the Kyushu area in western Japan and have extensive experience in general corporate matters, dispute resolution, mergers & acquisitions and corporate restructurings. The office will also be initially staffed with at least one additional lawyer and will provide clients with legal support and services in liaison with the firm’s other offices located in Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore.

The Fukuoka Office is schedule to open on October 1 of this year. Further details about the office will be announced at a later date.
