Opening of MHM Bangkok Desk

Mori Hamada & Matsumoto (“MHM”) is pleased to announce the opening of an MHM Desk in Bangkok, Thailand.

In recent years, rapidly-growing Asian countries have been recognized as strategic manufacturing hubs and important marketplaces for many Japanese companies, and the business activities of Japanese companies in Asia have grown in significance and diversity. MHM was among the first Japanese firms to expand its service into China (Beijing and Shanghai) and Singapore, and has been providing legal services to clients making use of its expertise relating to the varied issues specific to emerging countries in Asia and its accummulated experience in cross-border transactions. In order to further expand and improve these structures and to support Japanese companies doing business in Asia, MHM and Chandler & Thong-ek Law Offices Limited (“C&T”)* have agreed to open an MHM Bangkok Desk at C&T offices. This is based on the alliance between the two firms in Thailand, a country which is demonstrating remarkably rapid growth among the emerging countries in Asia.

The MHM Bangkok Desk will operate in the offices of C&T, and an MHM lawyer stationed in their office will work together with C&T to provide legal services for Thailand-related deals. Hidetomo Futami, an MHM lawyer stationed in C&T, has been MHM’s main source of support for Thailand-related legal matters. Now, with the strengthening of the alliance between MHM and C&T, he can take advantage of increased support from C&T and their formidable expertise, enabling MHM to provide even more comprehensive legal services in the Japanese language.

MHM will continue to encourage all lawyers working at the offices in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore, as well as the newly-opened MHM Bangkok Desk, to work together to provide better legal services to its clients.

Thank you for your support.
