Christopher Vogl joins Mori Hamada & Matsumoto

Message from Mr. Christopher Vogl

My name is Christopher Vogl and it is a great pleasure to join Mori Hamada & Matsumoto as a secondee for one year starting August 2019.

After taking the bar exam in 2014, I joined Gleiss Lutz as an associate. Gleiss Lutz is one of the major law firms in Germany with around 330 lawyers covering the entire range of legal matters that are of relevance for corporate clients and businesses. Since 1 July 2019, I am an associated partner of the firm. One of the reasons for me to join Gleiss Lutz was its unique Japan Practice Group which consists of around 6 to 8 lawyers who work primarily on Japan-related matters.

As a member of the Japan Practice Group, I work on M&A and corporate matters with a primary focus on Japan-German cross-border investments. Over the last five years, I have worked on numerous Japan-related transactions, often together with lawyers of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

I lived in Japan for longer periods two times: In 2008, I studied for half a year at Kyoto Sangyo Daigaku. From 2010 until 2012, I lived in Tokyo and Osaka on a German-government-funded scholarship program. I speak English and Japanese.

I am honored to become a part of the Mori Hamada & Matsumoto team and will strive to contribute to the success of the firm’s clients.
