Seri Takahashi joins Mori Hamada & Matsumoto

Message from Ms. Takahashi

I am delighted to be joining Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

After being admitted to the Japanese bar in 2011, I worked in the Tokyo office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for approximately four and a half years.  During that time, I primarily dealt with contentious matters, through litigation as well as alternative dispute resolution including international arbitration, concerning a wide range of issues, such as financial transactions, employment issues, and damages related to a nuclear power plant incident.  From 2016 to 2017, I studied at Columbia Law School in New York, with a particular focus on obtaining a greater understanding of international dispute resolution.  Following my graduation from Columbia, I relocated to the Dubai office of Freshfields, where I worked on a number of highly technical cases, including construction disputes and anti-corruption investigations in the Middle East and Africa, until the summer of 2019.  Subsequently, I joined Hogan Lovells in Hong Kong, where I gained experience in international dispute resolution in the region, including widely used international arbitration.

In recent years, alternative dispute resolution such as international arbitration has become increasingly important in many parts of the world, including Asia.  As a member of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, I am committed to assisting our clients in resolving their disputes in the best possible way.
