Hiroyuki Sato joins Mori Hamada & Matsumoto

Message from Mr. Hiroyuki Sato

I am honored to be joining Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

Prior to joining the firm, I served as a public prosecutor in charge of investigations and trials of criminal cases for 14 years. Having fulfilled the duty and accumulated experiences as a prosecutor, I have acquired valuable and preeminent skills in legal interviewing, evidence gathering and examination, fact finding and identification of illegal conducts, and court trials.

In addition to these skills and experiences obtained through my career as a prosecutor, I have earned LL.M. degrees from U.S. law schools and got admitted to the New York State Bar, which was a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals of U.S. law and refine my language proficiency in English. Also, while working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), where I served as an in-house legal counsel, I have managed internal investigations and inspections of overseas diplomatic establishments, provided legal advice on contracts with foreign parties and handled administrative disputes and lawsuits, which helped me to develop the language skills and global perspectives necessary to deal with international issues and cases and learn the realities inside the government policy making and administration and administrative and civil lawsuits.

I am really looking forward to meeting and serving our clients and to the new challenges of satisfying the needs and demands of our clients as a proud member of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto. Making the most of unique and prominent experiences and skills developed through my career as a public prosecutor, I will do my utmost to provide our clients with excellent legal services and the best solutions regardless of the issues and situations they may face.
